When Lexus debuted its first hybrid in 2004 your status did not need to be "updated," more people had landlines than cell phones and Wi-Fi was hard to come by. Now Lexus has more than 190,000 hybrids on the road that have traveled over 5.5 billion miles* - that's further than the length of every paved road on the planet. Cardinal Buses Announces Technological Upgrades to 20 of Their Motor Coaches with Wireless Internet |
Sunday, 07 March 2010 |
Cardinal Buses has now implemented the technology of wireless Internet and electrical outlets into their coaches. By adding Internet and electrical outlets onto their coaches, charter bus trips are now an easier and more customizable ride. The outlets will allow riders to plug in their laptop computers, personal DVD players, cell phone chargers or other personal devices that help make a long trip easier and more productive. The spacing of the electrical outlets allows the riders to have equal access to charge their small electronic devices throughout the coach and minimizes the hazard of tripping over cords. The Internet connection has been made possible through the technology of mobile routers. Similar to the technology of 3G networks, the mobile routers on Cardinal Buses all have the IIM Z Series Wireless Routers which all are built on the Linux operating system, containing firewall protection, GRE tunneling and a host of security and application options. |

This hybrid project is also aimed at ensuring that Ferrari will be in a position to comply with future CO2 emissions standards, particularly in terms of the urban cycle.
