CNLBancshares, Inc. Promotes Lynne Wines to President and COO of CNLBank PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 28 November 2009
Banking industry veteran Lynne Wines has been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of Orlando-based CNLBank. The announcement was made by C. Michael Collins, President and CEO of CNLBancshares, Inc., the bank's holding company. Wines will oversee all banking operations of the 16 full-service offices in Jacksonville, Orlando, South Florida, and Naples/Southwest Florida. She was previously CEO of CNLBank's South Florida division.

"Our company has spent the last decade building the infrastructure and talent to support a multi-billion dollar state-wide commercial bank, growing from $100 million in 2001 to over $1.65 billion today," said Collins. "With Lynne's leadership, we will remain focused on operating a safe, sound, and strong financial institution that is well-positioned to capitalize on the opportunities ahead. Her excellent reputation and industry experience are invaluable especially in the current economic climate."

Wines is a widely respected, well recognized banking veteran who joined CNLBank in January of 2008 from Colonial Bank N.A. where she was president and CEO of commercial banking for South Florida. Previously she was CEO of Union Bank in Ft. Lauderdale, where she built the bank from a small de-novo to a highly successful $1 billion bank before it was acquired by Colonial Bank.

"I am honored to partner with Mike and work with a talented team at CNLBank that is committed to providing superior service and financial solutions to our clients," said Wines. "Florida banking has been part of my life for over 25 years, and I am excited about helping CNLBank chart a successful path for our associates, customers, and shareholders."

Wines is also a community activist, serving on boards and volunteering with numerous non-profit agencies and professional organizations. She is the 2009-2010 chair-elect for the United Way of Broward County as well as the chair of their Governance Committee. In addition, Wines serves as Vice Chair of 211 First Call for Help Broward, Inc. and is a board member of the Council for Educational Change and WPBT Channel Two. She is also a member of Broward Workshop.

Over the years, Wines has been recognized for her personal and professional accomplishments.

She received the South Florida Business Journal's 2009 Influential Business Woman Award, American Diabetes Association's 2009 Valor Award, United Way of Broward County's 2009 Community Builder Award and Levinson's Jeweler's 2009 Gem of Fort Lauderdale Award. In 2008, Wines received the South Florida Business Leader Magazine's Women Extraordinaire Award; she also received the South Florida Business Journal's Diamond CEO Award in 2005. She was named to US Banker magazine's "25 Most Powerful Women to Watch" in 2004 and received South Florida Business Journal's Business Women of the Year Award in 2002.

A resident of Parkland, Wines received her Bachelor of Science degree from Nova Southeastern University.
